Dan has only been back a day and my sleeping pattern is ruined.
Couldn’t care less. I’m writing while Dan practices guitar.

Every year I have a tea party on my Birthday, it’s become a sort of tradition…
So this year i’m planning a 1940s themed party. I’m thinking 1940s dress, music, trivia and food.
But I need a little bit of help/inspiration!
Which foods/brands were new in the 1940s? So far, i can only think of m&ms.
Which artists were big in the 1940s? So far I’ve thought of: Benny Goodman, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, The Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday.
I also need some outfit advise!!

The year ahead…
I think January is possibly going to be the most stressful month of my life.
I have assignments due, technical exam to prepare for and rehearsals start on Tuesday for Street Scene, which goes on in just two months time.
I also turn 23 in 12 days.
I’m also not looking forward to having to go back to Birmingham tomorrow. I’ve had such a good time at home, it’s the first time I’ve been at home since august. Plus, i will be pretty much on my own in Birmingham until the weekend when people get back for lessons to start next week but I have to go back early for rehearsals.
Despite all this looking forward to this year. I will finish my 3rd year of Conservatoire and go into my 4th. My sister is also getting married in August :)

Time for a bit of soppy reflection….
It’s funny how a year can be the worst and the best of your life.
I couldn’t be more different than the person I was this time last year. Things at the start of the year seemed so messed up and things have been hard but now everything could not be more different.
Its been the people who have made me get through the year. Like my mum, who has supported me through Uni so much this year, couldn’t have done it without her. My best friend Heather, I’m so glad we became close. My boyfriend Dan who has made the past month the most amazing month and it’s been a perfect end to the year.
So, here’s to 2012. I hope this year brings wonderful things for everyone.

Can’t believe it’s Christmas in 5 minutes.
This year has been so tough but I’m so glad things have worked out. Really got everything I’ve wanted this year.
